Change of Scene

Hi all. I've decided to move from the trashy corridors of MySpace to the more refined halls of Blogger. I feel better already. But it's not my only change of scene, as you know, as I am leaving for America in 2 weeks. Not for that long - a month or so - depending on funds, but it's as good an excuse as any to get my blog off to a new start, and will save you all from those group email things.

In memory of the travels of the most famous mad Latvian Australian of all, Crocodile Dundee, I'm calling it "That's not a knife!" My god, and you thought the 80s were over. Sorry. I look around at the hairstyles and I see it isn't so.

And in case you don't believe me that Crocodile Dundee was Latvian - here's the monument to him in his hometown of Dundagas.

Let's see if America can give me any sights wackier than that!!

I don't mind MySpace - it's much more fun when you get random comments from friends and bands :)

Welcome, babe, to the wonderful world of Blogger. Much easier to use, even though I miss the community feel of MySpace. Sarah said you could create Blogger communities, and she would show me how, but then she left Melbourne, and I left Australia, and she one upped me by leaving the entire Asia-Pacific region.

And anyone who believes the 80s are over should come to Asia. 'Why Indonesia is stuck in the 80s'- coming to my blog sometime soon.

What I like about MySpace is being able to browse other people's list of friends and see if I know any of them. I'm starting to feel a bit like a cyberstalker though.

Yeah the community feel of MySpace is addictive, and it is interesting to run across people you know. But I waste so much time on it, looking around at bands, seeing what people are up to in different parts of the world(nothin', most of them) and the animated ads are driving me crazy! I don't want to get a free frickin' zwinky, whatever that is, or any of the other junk that slowly hypnotises me from the top of my screen. Blogger is a bit more time-efficient.
